Wilson and Sons Engineering has been a supplier into Magellan Aerospace Bournemouth, the number one UK Tier 1 into Airbus and GKN, for over 10 years and we are delighted with the way in which the supplier-customer relationship has developed.
During this time we have “imposed” a number of initiatives on our supply base and it is fair to say that we use Wilson & Sons Engineering as our prototype supplier to run these programmes through before rolling out to other suppliers within our supply base.
They were the first supplier into Bournemouth to embrace the Consignment Stock programme and still maintain 100 parts within set min max levels.
More recent they are among a select few suppliers who maintain an EIS system, enabling us to view incoming deliveries and exchange exception messages.
They have also been able to provide various “cost downs” on products by re-engineering internal manufacture or removing “waste”.
They understand the critical nature of our business, in supplying the right part at the right time, whilst having a “can-do” approach if and when problems arise.
